The Kenya University Sports Federation (KUSF) Women’s Championship games have concluded after a thrilling three days of intense competition. The games began on Friday, with teams from 23 Kenyan universities competing in a variety of sports.
Several teams were recognized for their achievements in various categories, with Kenyatta University emerging as the overall winner.
Ms Esther Lokweyi, representing the Principal Secretary, State Department for Higher Education and Research, officially closed the event. Among the other guests present were Vice-Chancellor Prof. Samuel Gudu, businesslady Zilpah Audline, and the Rongo sub-county security team.
The Chief Guest applauded the athletes for their sportsmanship and commitment to the games. She also emphasized the importance of such events in developing young talent and urged universities to invest more in sports and talent development. She went on to say that the government was committed to supporting sports at all levels and would continue to provide the resources needed to ensure that Kenya remained a regional sporting powerhouse.
