About the Directorate
The Directorate of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is mandated to lead the development, coordination, and regulation of technical and vocational education within the country. Our mission is to empower youth and adults with industry-relevant skills that enhance employability, drive innovation, and contribute to inclusive economic development.
Vision: A centre of excellence in technical and vocational training that fosters innovation, economic growth, and lifelong learning.
Mission: To provide accessible, inclusive, and high-quality technical and vocational training that equips learners with practical skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.

- Develop and implement TVET policies and strategies
- Register, coordinate, and oversee TVET programmes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and review Competency-based Education (CBE)
- Promote linkages with industry for training, internships, and employment
- Ensure quality assurance, standards compliance, and performance monitoring
- Facilitate trainer capacity development and institutional strengthening
- Mobilise resources for infrastructure, tools, and equipment
