On 11th November, 2022, Rongo University security department in partnership with experts of fire accidents management: Mr. Adams Momanyi ,Ms. Nancy Bonareri and Mr. Paul Nyamweya, organized a fire safety training session to educate both students and staff on safety measures towards fire accidents management.
During the first session of the training, the following topics were discussed;
- Definition of fire.
- Causes of fire.
- Basic fire prevention measures.
- Types of extinguishers and their uses.
- Classes of fire.
- Operation of fire extinguishers.
- Safety numbers.
The trainers were also taken through a practical exercise and the entire team learnt how to distinguish different classes of fire and using different types of fire extinguishers.
