Launch of The International Research Journal of Rongo University (IJORU)

The International Research Journal of Rongo University (IJORU) came as a result of consultations with various stakeholders in the academia, industries and research-oriented organisations, which felt there was a gap in research communication and technology transfer that needed to be filled urgently.

As an International Multidisciplinary Journal, it opened its door of publications by holding multidisciplinary conferences with the first being held between on March 2018, Chaired by Prof. Ernest Sangai Mohochi, the second in 2019 and the third on October 2021, under the chairmanship of Prof. Z. Ngalo Otieno-Ayayo.

The upcoming Fourth conference will be held between 14th -16th February, 2024, in Vannah Hotel, Migori County. Hence, the call for Abstract and Papers as from today 19th October 2023.

The Journal is also a biannual peer-reviewed, open-access, that publishes high-quality papers in multiple disciplines. Every paper is subjected to double-blind peer review process. The process is spearheaded by a team comprising Editor-In-Chief, Editors, Reviewers, Authors, Type-setters and Designers drawn from Rongo University, Kenya and International Realm.

As we launch and celebrate the First Issue of IJORU today, I believe that it is a valuable addition to the scientific literature recognition. I would like therefore to express my sincere congratulations to the eight- member team of the Editorial Board that has worked tirelessly to ensure this issue is a reality. This are: Dr. Ambuchi J. John, Prof. Z. Ngalo Otieno-Ayayo, Dr. Erick Omondi Odero, Dr. Ann Mugalavai, Mr. Nakitare Joel, Dr. Marren Akong’o, Dr. James Abila and Dr. Taji Shivachi. The team has since expanded to 15-member team incorporating Editors from other Universities in Kenya and outside Afrika. Special mention goes to our student Kelvin Muriuki for designing the cover for our First Issue.

We also thank Authors who send their Manuscripts for publication with Ijoru where the First five articles have formed this First issue while others will form subsequent issues. The second issue will soon be out too. Special thanks goes to the University Council, University Management and University Senate for the vision and support we have received.
