In previous general elections, Kenya experienced rounds of violence which led to death, injury, destruction of property and internal displacement of citizens. Borrowing from this experience, the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO, in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair on community Radio for Agricultural Education seeks to provide training on adverts and podcasts co-creation. The training targets community radio broadcasters, radio programme managers, local stakeholders, researchers and peace-journalism experts from the region. The workshop will take place in Rongo University on 31st October to 4th November, 2021 and the aim is to equip participants with tools and techniques for violence prevention using radio platforms. The goal is to prevent violence and foster peaceful co-existence among Kenyans throughout the electioneering period of 2022.
