Postgraduate Workshop Champions Timely Completion and Innovative Research

In a dynamic show of academic commitment, Rongo University hosted a transformative Postgraduate Workshop under the theme “Towards Timely Completion, Novelty, and Innovative Research.” Held at the Multipurpose Hall, the event brought together postgraduate students and faculty members for a vibrant exchange of ideas aimed at advancing research quality, originality, and timely completion.

The workshop was officially opened by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Gudu, joined by Prof. Daniel Tarus, DVC for Administration, Finance and Planning, and Prof. Michael Ntabo, DVC for Academic and Student Affairs. They emphasized institutional commitment to mentorship, collaboration, and research excellence.

In his keynote address, Prof. Gudu urged scholars to build strong networks, noting that “relationships are essential in the journey of education.” Other speakers included Dr. Elisha Ogada from Egerton University, who emphasized discipline and dedication in advanced studies, and Mr. Joel Nakitare, Head of Library, who reaffirmed the library’s support for researchers.

Student representative Mr. McDonald Odhiambo encouraged more student participation in supervisor selection for alignment with research interests. Thematic sessions on research design, proposal development, academic writing, and innovation equipped participants with actionable tools and renewed motivation.

As the workshop concluded, a sense of direction and rejuvenation was evident. The event reaffirmed Rongo University’s commitment to quality postgraduate training and transformative research.
