Workshop on Promoting Responsive Media Hosted by UNESCO Chair and Kenya National Commission for UNESCO
The UNESCO Chair on Community Radio for Agricultural Education at Rongo University, in collaboration with the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO, recently hosted a workshop aimed at promoting responsive and proactive media in the region. This event, held from November 16th to 20th, 2020, was officially opened by the Vice-Chancellor and closed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academics and Student Affairs.
Training for Community Radio Broadcasters
Community radio broadcasters and program managers from vernacular radio stations in Migori and Homa-Bay Counties greatly benefited from training sessions focused on radio content conceptualization, drafting, and production.

Outcomes of the Workshop
During the workshop, participants created 16 draft adverts and podcasts addressing various aspects of COVID-19 education, management, and response. A follow-up activity is planned to refine, produce, and broadcast the draft content.
