A team of talented students from Rongo University participated in this year’s University drama festival which took place on 4th- 13th November,2022 at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST), Siaya county.
Rongo University presented the following items during the event;
- Plays.
- Shadow play.
- Shadow dance.
- Beauty pageants.
- Mash- up.
- Spoken word.
Nationally, Rongo University was ranked the best university in shadow dance and position 3 under the beauty pageants category.
Mr. Jared Ajila, a third-year student from the school of Information Communication and Media Studies, was ranked the best beauty pageant from the men category. Therefore, he was ceremoniously crowned and given cash award as the next Mr. Universities Kenya by the current Cabinet Secretary for Sports and Culture, Hon. Ababu Namwamba who was also the guest speaker of the day.
The Rongo University head of music, drama, games and sports, Mr. Caleb Nyangwono, encouraged all students to nurture their talents, accordingly.
