About The School

The School has now expanded to offer Programmes ranging from postgraduate, Bachelors/undergraduate and Diplomas and currently has over 2, 245 students. School of Education, is headed by the Dean who is the administrative head of the School. The School of Education at Rongo University is a diverse, scholarly community dedicated to serving education through teaching, scholarship, and outreach. We prepare professionals to lead in education, to practice social responsibility, and to exemplify intellectual curiosity. We conduct scholarship that advances knowledge and refines practice. From its founding, the Rongo University School of Education has been committed to both the preparation of educators and the advancement of research and scholarship. We offer programs leading to initial licensure as a teacher, counselor, or administrator, as well as programs of advanced studies for practitioners and scholars. This dual commitment is also reflected in our faculty, who combine practical classroom expertise and scholarly attainments. The scholarly work deepens and enriches the preparation of educators; and the preparation of educators tethers scholarship to the realities of practice. The School of Education is dedicated to preparing outstanding professional educators, producing research that improves the practice of education, and providing excellent professional support to our partners in the field. As a school, we provide comprehensive undergraduate and graduate programs. One of our strengths is that we are a small school of approximately 1,000 students – we work hard to sustain a strong sense of community. Students and faculty get to know one another, and actively engage in discussion regarding the improvement of the education world from nursery through higher education. Our community members have access to all the resources of a major research university, including: faculty who are leaders in their field of study, libraries, lectures and an abundance of courses in a wide range of disciplines and professional fields.
