Today 3rd March 2023, Rongo University was privileged to host the 12th Kenya University Sports Federation, Women Championship to mark the International Women’s Day that is to be celebrated on 8th March, 2023.

Mr. Mbaabu Murithi, President Kenya University Sports Federation appreciated Rongo University for accepting to host the games and confirmed that indeed Rongo University has done a lot in uplifting their sporting facilities. The Kenya Universities Sports Federation’s Secretary General, Mr. Joseph Sandagi also confirmed that Rongo University will soon become a great sport center.

Rongo University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Gudu welcomed all the guests to Rongo University and thanked them for choosing Rongo University as the host of the championship.

The Guest of Honor, Dr. Rachael Masake pronounced that these games will promote unity among the Kenyan Universities and later urged the students to use the opportunity to network.

The following Universities are participating in the championship: Rongo University, Kenyatta University, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, University of Nairobi, Maseno University, Chuka University, Egerton University, Kabarak university, University of Eldoret, Kenya Methodist University, Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology, St. Paul’s University, Meru University of Science and Technology, Machakos University, Technical University of Kenya, Kisii University, School of Nursing Kaimosi, Zetech University, Technical University of Mombasa, Maasai Mara University, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology and Bomet University College.
