Rongo University attends the CEIL Summit 2024.

Rongo University was among the institutions that attended the Commercialisation and Entrepreneurial Institutions Leaders (CEIL) Summit 2024, hosted by Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) at the Prideinn Paradise Hotel in Mombasa from 28th to 29th August 2024. The Summit whose aim is to catalyze a paradigm shift in Kenya’s research and entrepreneurial ecosystems, focusing on Youths, Jobs, and Wealth Creation brought together industry players, innovators, researchers, academia and government institutions. It highlighted opportunities for Institutions, Industry, and Innovators, advocating for stronger research commercialization, practical innovations, policy advocacy, and industry-academia linkages to boost Kenya’s innovation journey.
The purpose of the Summit was to Gain perceptions into industry perspectives on research development, and the establishment of sustainable enterprises through innovation; Shed light on the commercialization and entrepreneurial opportunities for institutions, industry and innovators; and Showcase and celebrate practical solutions developed by innovators within universities and Technical & Vocational Education & Training (TVET), that are addressing job creation and employment
The University was represented by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Samuel Gudu who is also a Council member of Kenya Network of Entrepreneurial Institutions Leaders (KNEIL). Others present were Institutional Working Group members Prof. Jonathan Mulwa, Stephen Ajwang and Benson Asugo.
