On Monday, 12th April 2022, Rongo University Vice chancellor Prof. Samuel Gudu hosted officers from Youth Enterprise Development Fund with an aim to build a partnership with the institution to support students in creating job opportunities and supporting entrepreneurship skills.

Youth Development Fund program basically deals with the following programs:

  1. Offering credit facilities to youths.
  2. Market linkage to youths involved in Agri -business
  3. Enterprise development through mentorship coaching.

The program’s main agenda is funding youths to start projects that aim in creating job opportunities to Rongo University students especially those in School of Agriculture and School of Business.

After discussion, the two parties came into agreement on two projects that will be funded by the program that is, aquaculture and poultry farming due to the readily available market within the institution and the community.
